Drain Holes/Batt Bx
Are there any tech reasons not too put small drainage holes in the
bottom of battery box to drain out rain water? I'm talking one very small hole
in each recessed block in the bottom.
Input please. Thanks

I hope not because I did it. The box would get a lot of rain in it going down the road.

Thanks, yep, I agree. I took my battery out this a.m. and bottom of box had water in it from when we had a little rain few days ago.
Going to drill small holes in about 30 minutes. Really small, though.
Thanks again, Terry

You will then permit any acid that overflowed into the tray, to drain on your nice concrete driveway, etc. Also on the frame area when you are driving!

Never have had a battery overflow in 47 yrs of owning and operating vehicles; motorcycles, lawn tractors, JD, cars, 4 previous RVs, and way too many pickup trucks.
I know there is that "Always a first time" lurking out there though.

X3, but not quite 47 years though! More like 30 something.

"How interesting." Must have an exceptional converter or battery manufacturer. It can and does happen! You have something to look forward too.
I expected some form of rebuttal. I always expect it on this forum.

No rebuttal or peeing contest from me. Nothing exceptional about my batteries. Never said it couldn't happen, just stated it hasn't happened to me.
Not something I'm looking forward to happening. It is what it is.
Thanx All who gave input to my post. Holes have been drilled as of this afternoon.
I'm finished w/this thread.

Not rebuttal - it is discussion. Everyone has different opinions that they share - it is up to the individual what they do with the information.
Since the OPs question has been answered, I will close the thread. Thanks to all that provided input.
