Electric
Hello,
I have a question about my 2006. When I am plugged into a power source everything works except my lights and slide out motor?
I'm thinking this means my power converter is no longer good.
Is this something I could replace by myself?
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

Could you specify which model you have? Do the lights and slide work when connected to just a battery?

I have the exact same problem - bought a new battery and it won't hold a charge. Hope you get an answer soon!

Hmmm, seems like there must be more to this. Convertors normally connect to the same DC wiring as the batteries (and everything else in the trailer).
I see you used the past tense regarding the battery, are the batteries ALWAYS installed, connected, and fully charged?
The condition you describe sounds like the reverse polarity fuse is blown and the batteries are dead. With the fuse blown, the convertor will never charge the battery and will not supply DC power to the rest of the trailer, even when plugged in to power.

2005 Jayflight 28FKS has same problem
The outlets are working, but the slide out and lights are not. We replaced the battery, everything worked. The new battery is not holding a charge. We've been plugged into AC power the entire time. Embarrassingly, we are complete newbees and can't find the converter or "reverse polarity fuse". I've looked elsewhere on the Forum and no one seems to have photos or a description of where these are. The owners manual is completely useless in this situation.
Does anyone know where on the Forum I might find other owners of the same model?
Thanks all!

The converter in my TT is under my breaker panel like the video listed below. If you are comfortable with a multimeter, check the output voltage of the converter. 120V in, 12V + DC out. In the video, the large red and white wires from the converter connected to the top left lugs on the circuit board are the wires to check.

I should not need a battery if plugged into a power source?
Where would that fuse be and look like? I checked all the fuses for polarity.
Also where is the best place to get a new converter and how do I know what kind I need for my trailer?
Thanks

Guys, the first and easiest test for your converter is to connect the battery to the appropriate cables, plug in the rv to the appropriate outlet, then attach a multimeter to the appropriate battery terminals. If the converter is working properly, you should see something over 13 volts. If it is under 13 volts, then you have a problem with the converter.

On my rig the reverse battery fuses are in the same fuse panel as the dc and AC breakers but in the upper right corner and clearly marked.
I can post a picture later today. Disclaimer: My converter is likely much bigger than yours but the picture may help.

Check the fuses for continuity not polarity. Find out which type and size Converter you have after determining that is defective and look online.
Many have reconditioned ones that are not as expensive as new.

FOUND IT!! The 30 Amp fuse was attached to the battery at the front of the trailer - I had been looking at all the fuses in the fuse box under the fridge. The 30 was complete corroded and broke when we removed it. We replaced it and voila!! Thanks to all who tried to assist - we appreciate your support.

No. Battery is for emergency break away switch and 12V boondocking
