Electric stabilizer jacks.

Hey guys I have a 2011 eagle 322 fks. I can't get my weight distribution bars on cause my trailer is too low. I need to put blocks under my tongue jack. My question is will my electric stabilizer jacks be able to hold the weight of my trailer while I raise my tongue jack to do this?

I wouldnt try it. I would use a suitable floor jack to raise it up. Or raise it up with the tongue jack and put blocks under the A frame to hold it up while you retract the tongue jack to get the blocks under it..

I agree with 33 RLDS. I was told specifically that they will NOT hold the weight of the trailer and that they were just for stabilizing.

Sean, under no circumstances should you use the stabilizers to raise the trailer. I may be a little confused about your question, first block the wheels on your trailer, raise the tongue jack to where you can hook up the camper, back up your truck and set the trailer down on the ball, lower it all the way and lock it in. Raise the tongue jack [the rear of the truck will raise too]. This will enable you to install the spring bars rather easily, install the spring bars completing the WDH process. Raise the tongue jack all the way as if it were being towed. You should have plenty of clearance to put blocks under the tongue jack at this point. When disengaging the spring bars, be sure to raise the tongue jack again to limit the down force of disengaging. Hope this helps, Terry

I think what he is saying I'd that he can't get his trailer hooked up at all, not the WD bars. I agree with those above, don't use the stabilizers to hold the weight of the trailer - raise it as high as you can and block under the A frame (chock wheels) or use a jack.

Yea I couldn't get the trailer on my truck at all. I was on an extreme down hill. I didn't have any kind of jack so I called the dealership and they said it was okay to do as long as I was quick about it. Lets just say lesson learned.I went out the next day and bought a floor jack that now sits in the back if my truck.

The scissor type stabilizer jacks should support the trailer OK. Most are rated 5000#+. I would not rely on the "Y" style stabilizers though. They are not near as sturdy. JMO.

Yea mine are the y style they both come down at the same time. I'm about to go and park it at resort for the summer and am worried about how I'm going to level the trailer with these jacks. If they lower at the same time how do I raise one side more than the other?

The "Y" style stabilizers are not designed to "level" the trailer. You should get the trailer level with blocks under the wheels (Lynx blocks) and the tongue jack. Then you should set the stabilizers.

You drive one side of the trailer onto blocks (if I'm understanding your question correctly).

If you really want the tires off of the ground I would recommend removing all four or the "Y" stabilizers and replacing them with eight scissor jacks appropriately placed so as to support the entire trailer. Instead of eight jacks you could use cement blocks but that is assuming you do not intend on moving the trailer maybe once a year.
