Electric Tongue Jack Install

I have a Jay Flight SLX 267BHSW and I just bought a Barker 3500 electric tongue jack. I have it bolted on but how do you connect the wire to the trailer?

The wire with an in-line fuse should go directly to the positive side of the battery.

When you bolted it on did you make sure there was a bare metal connection between the tongue and the jack?

As sometimes happens paint, corrosion, rust, etc. may come between the hitch and the jack. If that happens then the circuit will not be complete and the jack will not operate.

I ran a separate wire to the negative terminal from the jack bolt. (because mine would not work due to rust on my prior trailer).
