entrance steps

Just bought a 2016 Jayco 26BHS. Having trouble getting the entrance steps down. Have Googled and checked manual. No help. Afraid to be too forceful... any tips? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! The step usually needs to be lifted slightly in the front before it will swing out. I usually use the top of my foot to lift and pull it out. If it doesn't go easily, try spraying the hinges and pivot points with WD-40 or silicone. Also check to see if the step has been bent or damaged.

Are the manual steps? If so they just unfold. I do not have that model so I know I must be missing something. i just watched a video of that traailer and it looks like regular fold out steps

Yes manual steps. They won't pull down. Feels like they are hitting something. Afraid to pull any harder, feels like I may break something. Something is not right.

The steps should come out easily as mentioned above.

Just pull up and away from the trailer and they should pivot up and out. Then grab the last step and pull it up and over as well.

You can't really break anything pulling by hand, be sure to lift and pull at the same time, once they come out, then you flip the second step over, and yes, use some force
