Extended Service Plan
I have a 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 24RKS. My warranty is due to expire in a couple of weeks. So far no significant problems. Does anybody recommend any of the Extended Service Plans out there or have any problems with them. Thanx for your assistance.

I would skip wasting any money on a extended warranty and use it to enjoy lots of camping this summer. Those warranties have so many restrictions and are loaded in the insurance companies favor for what they cover.

Pretty much every "consumer advocate" or expert on the planet advises against ANY type of extended warranty or service plan.
It's like Vegas - the odds are ALWAYS in the house favor. Yea, you might be the lucky (or unlucky) one that has some catastrophic failures and actually gets your money's worth - but the odds are against it.

Extended Service Plans
Thank you for your quick response. I will probably not purchase one and continue to provide good maintenance.

My 2 cents. If you're a mechanically handy person. I would consider skipping out on it.
We typically purchase extended warranty on purchases that offer it (electronics, cell phone, etc). Warranty has benefits Regardless of what the media tells you. There are also products where extended warranty has little to no benefit.
We purchased an extended warranty on our Jayco X23B and have had one claim after 3 years when the furnace stopped working. I saw the invoice and without the extended warranty would've cost me about $500. It still cost me $50 because on the so called "deductible" that they have on the warranty service, which I'm not a big fan of.

The big question is what did that warranty cost you that you used once in three years to save $450

You'd never want to make your deciding factor to purchase a warranty on whether or not you'll make your money back.

I agree its not about making money but I don't need to throw money away to a warranty company. So I take it your warranty cost more than your one claim, some people just like that feeling of being covered for future unknowns which is fine for some but its not for me.

Take the money you would spend on the warranty put it in the bank for any future problems, I will bet that in 5 years you will still have most or all of that money left.

In my entire life I don't think I have spent as much on what would be warranty-covered repairs as one EW on a major purchase would have cost. OTOH, the money I saved by not purchasing them on a myriad of new cars, boats and trailers, would undoubtedly pay for a pretty nice brand new vehicle.

I had one on the 2002 Monaco class A I owned before the TT. Bought the Monaco new and I think the extended warranty cost me $2000 at the time.
Cost was recovered 4 times over when the motor burned a piston and had to be replaced. About a $8K repair.
I wouldn't even consider one on a TT. I'll continue with Jayco's 2 year warranty and all the other stuff I'll fix myself when needed. Anything with a drive train, maybe.
