Feedback on the 2011 314BHDS

We just took delivery of our new 2011 314BHDS. Not alot different than our 2007 31BHS, which we sold to my niece. Love most everything about it - particularly the kids room. Would love feedback on this model.
I have identified one problem, which I am surprised wasn't noticed at the factory. The swivel TV won't swivel! The frame that holds the TV on one side and the mirror on the other is about 1/16 to big. It won't clear the (bedroom side) lower trim that is part of the cabinet. Very disappointing. Not that big of a deal if I can remove the mirror and mount another TV in it's place so it won't need to spin. Anyone ever experience this? What's the fix?

Please let me know the response. It is frustrating to find these things after you have left the dealer and get your TT home, or in our case, in it's storage building at the lake - 4 hours away from the dealer. The diesel fuel alone will cost me $100.00 if I have to take it all the way back up there. Yuck! I do love the unit though. I will contact my dealer as soon as they open.

I feel for ya! Our dealer is also about 4 hours away. Probably closer to $200 r/t. Contact Jayco and they may hook ya up with a shop closer to home to make the fix under warranty

My dealer has two of these units on the lot and they just checked both and the TV/mirror shivels with no problems. They told me this is the first they have heard of this issue. You can be sure this will be one of the things I will be looking for during my walkthrough! No other issues that you have noticed so far?
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Everything else is great. Really like the floorplan. I just spoke with the dealer to let them know about the issue. Of course they are happy to fix it, but I am checking to see if I can just remove the mirror and install another TV. Swivel problem solved. Cheaper for me to buy a new TV than it is to donate two of my weekends and lots of diesel fuel so that they can remove, trim and reinstall! I would rather have that anyway.

Sorry to hear about the TV issue. Dealer prep/ PDI should have picked up on this problem before you took it home. Yes running back to a dealer for warranty work on small items could be very expensive and time consuming. Especially with the current fuel prices. Many of us that are handy do minor repairs and adjustments ourself, its just easier all the way around then lugging a trailer to a dealer. When My toilet valve leaked, I called the manufacturer and they sent me a new one free, and I installed it myself rather then lug it to a dealer. Perhaps it is out of adjustment and the dealer can tell you how to do it? Just a thought. -Lee

I don't know how your tv is mounted but you might solve the problem by resetting the base it is mounted on. It might be just a screw hole off.

When I had a warranty claim I called my dealer and he reccomended a mobile RV company that came to me . They filed all paperwork and I did not have to lay out one cent. You should ask your dealer if they know of a mobile service near you.

Clutch, I checked the mount and it is correct. The mounting board is just too large.

usmc616, great idea. I will check with the dealer.

Thanks.

We bought one in the fall and I'm taking delivery of it next month. My only issue are those 2 dinette seats that extend out, however the table does not extend. What were the designers/engineers thinking? Those two extendable seats are useless without a table in front of them.

RLD, do those seats that extend have cushions with them?

Gregga, yes they do. There is a storage compartment in those seats and that is where teh cushions are.

RDL, that is why they invented TV trays...better buy a couple. I'm with you, I don't have extendable seats but have considered them on my next Jayco except for the absense of an extendable table. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

We just keep a couple of TV trays in the back of our large wardrobe closet across from the bathroom. Not that big of a deal for us as we rarely eat inside or have that many people. Really like the overall floorplan of the TT.
