I have a 198 rd jayflight swift. I'm about to go boondocking for the first time. when I hook up to city water at a regular campground, does that fill up the fresh water tank? For some reason I though that while you are hooked up to city water, no water went into the fresh water tank, it just flowed straight to your faucets.
This trip I have no water at the site but there is a faucet I can fill up my fresh water tank from in the campground. I just don't know if it will fill up if I hook into my city water inlet or do I have to hook it to the gravity fill inlet in order to put water into my fresh water tank. Thanks for your help.
Just bring along a water hose with a hand spigot on the end. Then you can pull up beside the water source at the camp ground before you setup and fill up your fresh water tank.
We also have a couple of 5-gallon fresh water jeri-cans with us at all times and can run back and forth a few times with a two wheeled cart and fill up that way as well.
We have to haul back our captured dirty sink water in a couple of AQUA-TAINER 7-gallon totes to dump down the bath house pot anyway so combine the trips..

I'm a newbie too. What exactly are you doing/showing in the picture above?
Are you "sucking" water from the blue containers, into the pup, with a water pump?
Or do you need to lift the blue containers high up, and dump the water into the tank thru the white hose?
That is waste water leaving the trailer. Popups do not have a grey water tank installed in the trailer. You need to provide your own. If there is a cassette toilet/shower there is a black water tank and a grey water tank.

You should have a twist cap on one side or the other. That is where you fill the tank.

Just make sure you sanitize your fresh water tank and rinse it several times before you fill it with fresh water. You can use a regular garden hose for sanitizing & rinsing, but always use a potable water hose (white or blue) to fill it with fresh water. I'd also recommend a hose end water filter when filling. You can pick one of those up at Wal-Mart for about $20.
