First Trip

Last weekend we went to our most favorite place to camp, Sebago Lake, Maine.

All went well, no major problems at all. A couple of questions, what would a good lubricant to use on the window mechanisms? The 'hardware' is plastic. Some of the windows would just open a couple of inches, until I pushed (persuaded) the little arms to go to the full lenght if the track. Sort of hard to describe, these are the small windows that actually open, under the larger fixed picture windows on the sides, dinette and couch.

Second, when running the fan, and noticed that it only had 1 speed. The switch has high and low, but only high speed either setting. When the A/C is on, the hi / low does work.

I think that I'm going to get an electric tongue jack.

The electric awning work ok, I lowered 1 side for rain run-off, and put the adjustment pins in the middle position, for some tilt. As delivered, the awning was almost straight out.

Trailer is a Jay Flight G2 RKS. I'll get the tag line up sometime.

Hey Bob, Welcome to the Forum. Where in eastern mass you from? I'm from Somerville and also new to camping. I've been looking for great places in the area to get away for a quick weekend. I haven't seen a ton mentioned on this Forum around here,Maine, and NH.

We stayed at the Boston/Cape Cod KOA in Middleboro about 10 days ago and it was pretty nice. Another nice spot was Bayley's Campground in Scarborough, ME near Old Orchard. Also check out Normandy Farms in Foxboro.

I recommend an electric tongue jack. I don't have a recommendation on a lubricant for your windows.

I have reservations in August for Point Sebago Campground. Was that the CG you stayed at?? If so how was it??

Thanks for the reply, I'm in Danvers. We really like the Sebago Lake State Park. Sort of hard to get into, due to on-line reservations, the summer fills up quick. They start taking the reservations on Feb 1st. Hit or miss on the weekends.

Old Orchard has some nice campgrounds. Haven't done much in NH, except north, Dolly Copp in Gorhanm,NH. National Forest CG. cold running water and toilets, no other facilities. Considered 'dry' camping. Don't think they have a dump station.

We have used silicone spray on window mechanisms etc. but be careful it doesn't get on anything else, it's very slippery.
