First Winter

Hi everyone! My wife, daughter and I are first time owners of a travel trailer and we live in the B.C. Interior. With winter approaching we are considering winterizing our trailer ourselves but we have never done it before so we may just go to the dealer. I am curious about doing it myself because our boat just got winterized and it cost $465.00! I assume that a boat is more complicated to winterize so more cost makes sense but if its not overly complicated to do the trailer I would like to do it myself.

I suppose my question is where can I find detailed instructions to properly winterize our trailer and are there any tips, warnings, or any advice about making the process smooth as possible? Also if anyone has some input on what a dealers typically charges for winterizing that info would be appreciated as well.

Our trailer is a 2012 Jay Flight 32BHDS with the Outdoor Kitchen which has a sink.
Thanks

Have you tried googling 'winterizing a camper' ? There's a wealth of info out there on how to do it. Ask 2 people and you'll get 3 different opinions. It's definately a DIY project, no sense paying the dealer to do it. Takes us about an hour and 2 gallons of RV antifreeze. Here's some links to get you started.

Definitely a do it yourselfer type project. Easy and inexpensive. BTW I also winterize my own boats as well, always have and with good results. View the instructions wiscampsin posted, if you have any problems winterizing we will help you through it!

Just don't wait too long. It gets cold there this time of year.
