Flipping a shank?

I bought a used 2015 287 BHSW that came with a Reese WDH, I already owned a 2012 F150, Ecoboot, with tow package, not the max tow package. I know I'm stretching the limits of the tow vehicle, but I need to make the best of it. This is my first experience two this large of trailer.
I bought it from a private party, hooked it up and drove it home about 90 miles in the Appalachian mountains. I was very happy with how it handled, and impressed with the power of the engine.
We loaded our supplies and have been out two times. I do notice slight proposing on bumps, and a little sway, nothing crazy, and I drive conservatively.
I don't having scales near me, but it does appear I have too much weight on the hitch. From measuring I want to get the ball higher on the hitch.

Can I flip the shank over, or is it specifically designed to only work one way?
I have attached a few pictures for suggestions.

What hitch do you have? I have an Equal-I-zer hitch and the shank can be flipped upside down. They actually label the size of the hitch with rise and drop... depending upon how you mount it.

You are lucky... I had to lower mine quite a bit. So much so, in fact, that I had to go out to the local RV parts store the night before our first trip and buy a shank with a longer drop just so I could get it out of my driveway!!!

It's a trunnion bar....but I can't tell..no documentation came with the trailer regarding the hitch...other than Reese...BTW I live in Md as well

Pics of the hitch didn't post? IF the shank is rated to be used in either position, it should be stated on the label if still present (right on the shank). The shank may be stamped with a number that you coud do a search for as well.

What makes you think you have to much tw? Does the steering feel very light? Or is the back of the tt "wiggling" (to little tw)?

Have you tried to set up the hitch for your truck yet? Check this thread out for two very informative links about wd hitch set up and how it works.

I flipped the shank on my Reese system when I changed trucks from a 1500 to a 2500.

]The trailer was setup for a tundra.....the ball on my Ford is 4 inches lower than the tongue....so hooking up...I'm dropping four inches from level, so I think I'm loading up the truck too much....trying to load pictures have failed in my attempts.

the specs for that Reese 3210 are
Rise – Drop: 4-1/4 - 6-1/4 in.
Yes you can flip the shank

level your TT and measure from the ground to the top of the coupler.
Then set the ball on your TT to the same height as measured above.
Hitch up and then use the equalizer bars to maintain level
