Fresh Water Fill Solution
A while back I posted a question about the fresh water fill on our Hummingbird 17RK. I was wondering if the inner sleeve on the filler extended to make filling the tank manually from jugs any easier. Apparently, it does not extend. The helpful people on the forum suggested the Camco hose attachment with the shutoff valve and I did pick one of those up. But, we're not always camping where you can connect a hose to the fresh water. Enter the right angle funnel! Search Amazon for that term and you will find it. It's an inexpensive add-on item and with a little modification it's perfect. This makes filling the TT with fresh water from 5 gal jugs a one-person job. The attached images show you just how easy and perfect this solution is.

If using the extension, I would tape it together. Just as insurance if it came off.

I guess I wasn't clear -- in the first two pics, I was showing the original funnel, it has two bends. You just trim off the end that curves down and throw away the tip. The remaining simple, one bend funnel fits into the filler port perfectly. In fact, the little ridge on the funnel kind of snaps into place to help hold the funnel in place while filling.

That looks very similar to the funnel that I bought for refilling the DEF tank on our TV, looks like i may need to purchase one more.
I can't find that exact one on Amazon by searching "right angle funnel", can you provide a link to the one you purchased?
Is it the Lisle 17232?

JM,
Nice solution to a pain in the rear job!!!
Sorry I missed your original post asking if the inlet extends. My solution was to buy a battery powered kerosene siphon pump for filling he fresh tank from a jug. It's even easier if you have a small table or chair to set the jug in while filling the water. The pump runs on 2- D batteries, and runs about $15 at Lowes/ Home Depot/ etc.
I just marked the pump "Clean Water" in case someone else got some crazy idea!!!

Since I carry a rechargeable drill for our stabilizer jacks anyways, I went with the mechanical pump option to transfer water from our 5-gallon water bags to the TT tank.
After having injured my back in the recent past.....I'll gladly spend $12.99 for a chance to avoid that again.

Now that's something I hadn't thought of and I will keep it in mind for the day I don't want to lift water jugs anymore. I've got to get my $7.62 worth of use out of the funnel before I order something else, house CFO rules.
