Front side slide question.

I have a 29 bhds tt. It has the kitchen slide on the front side. With the awning fully extended, there is less than a few inches between the awning and the top of the slide. What do y'all who have similar models do (if anything) to prevent damage to the awning? I'm afraid when the awning dumps water, it will rub and possibly tear the awning. I've bought some pipe insulation to put on the top. Just curious if anyone has had any issues or a better idea. Thanks!

I have seen pipe insulation or pool noodles placed on the top ridge of the slide to protect the awning.

I have some pipe insulation to try. Just curious if there was a better solution. I already have left the awning out part way as a slide cover on our first trip out.

Just wanted to bump this back up to see if anyone else had any ideas. I guess the front kitchen slide models just aren't all that popular.
