Good Sam Roadside Assistance Worth It?
Today I got an offer in the mail for Good Sam Roadside Assistance. To be honest, I have been thinking about this for a while now. Since I'm planning a long trip this spring-summer, I thought it might be a good safety blanket.
Does anyone have this and if so, what's your opinion? Worth it or not?

We have had Good Sam ers for 8 years. We have only needed to use them 3 times and all were tire related. The peace of mind of having help a telephone call away is worth it for me.

I have had it for many years. If you ever have to have a truck or trailer towed you will be a fan.
I have used it for tire changing and I think it is worth the peace of mind.
Had to tow the 3 different trucks several times and it was very cost effective for me.

Looks like we are crossing the northern US to get to eastern Canada ( you know how to build highways) next summer. I just joined GoodSam and will get the coverage, thanks.

You may want to check with your insurance company. With ours road service and towing is included.

Sometimes towing TV and TT tow truck driver will tow only to nearest Safe haven which could mean nearest open gas station. Happened to us. We were in PA. just a couple miles from OH. border Towtruck driver risk getting us across OH. border where could tow us. Was late at night not much open that we could call safe haven. Not aloud to tow doubles in PA. Still the tow bill was $700.
I'm not sure all the rules just know what happened to us. We were towing a 30' with a $100,000 race car in it. Nowhere was realy safe to leave it.

Try doing a search on other RV forums on emergency road service. From what I've read, Coach Net is better.

The only real saving grace about any towing service package.. is you know the number to call for help....
That said I have been very happy with the service from Good Sam ....

They all contract with the same local providers. The only difference is the customer service. I have no complaints with GS. I had a bad experience with Allstate road service and left them years ago.
I got 1 free year with the new Jayco, but it only covers the rig. I already have full coverage on all my vehicles with GS.

Sounds like just the peace of mind is worth the $79 a year.

They usually give you a lower rate the first year.
Mine costs closer to $100 and I still think it is a good buy for the peace of mind and I have not had a bad experience. They follow up very well when you call them to confirm that the provider is on time and has taken care of the problem. No money changes hands after you pay the annual fee.

You're right on the rate... they are offering it for $79.95 for the first year. That alone probably wouldn't pay for a single tow so you've convinced me.
