Goodyear tire upgrade

Thanks to the great info on this forum, I learned that Jayco is now offering a Goodyear tire upgrade. I ordered a 2017 Jayflight 29RLDS last December for delivery in March or early April. I called my local dealer here in South Carolina and he quoted me a price of $350.00 extra for the upgrade. I had originally called the factory in December after reading about the " china bombs" on this forum and they told me that my trailer would indeed have the Rainier tires. I was originally going to go with the Rainers for a year or two, but for $350.00 extra I figured it was a no brainer. The trailer is due to come off assembly on or about March 23, so I got the change in just in time. Thanks to the Goodyear posters!

I ordered a Whitehawk for early May delivery. It is coming with the Goodyear with the extra cost. Hope these tires will be better than some of the others you read about on the blog.

Anyone have information about them and why they will be better?

There is very little information from users because the tires are so new. The hope is they will be better because they are made in the USA. Time (and miles) will tell.

I just replaced my 2yr old Rainer tires with the Goodyears. I'm hoping they will be on my TT for many worry-free years. (fingers crossed)

For those of you with trailers that came with the Goodyear tires, was your spare also a Goodyear? Our 325bhqs was supposed to come with Goodyear tires but had Rainiers. I had CW put Goodyears on it before we purchased it. Now I see that the spare is a Rainier.

For those that had Goodyear, was your spare also a Goodyear?

Hi usmc1976. Nice to see a fellow South Carolinian. I spend a lot of time in North Myrtle.

Just ordered our TT with the Goodyear option as well. I don't put cheap tires on my cars so sure as hell wouldn't on a few tons behind my head

Congrats on the 29RLDS. That's a nice unit we seriously considered.

That's what I told CW. It's a required option on the Eagle and I'm not sure how this one got Rainiers on it. Still curious if the spare is a supposed to be a Goodyear. If so I will demand they replace that too.

It would be logical that the spare on a trailer would match the others, right?

Maybe logical but my experience was different. We ordered the upgraded GY 614 tires which are load range H. The spare was a GY Endurance load range E. Oddly enough the spare rim is stamped for 3750 lbs which is good for the 614's. The same thing happened to friends of ours that ordered a Pinnacle. The dealer reimbursed us for the correct tire.

After two trips on the Rainers I upgraded to 16" wheels and commercial tires myself. I think you can do a bit better doing it yourself that way you have a choice in brand and size. I would take the 16" maxxis upgrade over goodyears.
