Grey water valve under slideout

We just purchase a 2011 Jayco 29QBH travel trailer, which we have parked at seasonal site with a sewer hookup.
The grey water valve is under the slide out and very hard to reach with the slice out open. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to open and close the valve without crawling under the slide out or closing the slide out?

Hey Doug! Welcome to the Jayco Forums, glad you found us!

I know there are a couple of folks out there with that model, so I am sure you will get some input shortly.

If you have time, feel free to come on over to the new member section and introduce yourself.

Thanks! Terry

Dougahall,

Since you are on a seasonal site connected to a sewer hookup, I would leave the grey tank valve open, assuming the CG doesn't have any rules against it. Of course the black tank valve you want to keep closed until the tank is full.

I assume that on a seasonal site they require a sealed hose connection at the sewer hook-up (which is good).

Hi, To answer your question - we use an awning hook. Since our new 32BHDS has an electric awning as well as the grey tank valve under one of the slides we use the awning hook to open and close the valve. In the fall I mounted a 12volt light under the slide so I do not need to carry a flashlight while I am reaching for the valve.

tank drain handle

Here are some pics of the tool I made for my black tank as it is under my rear slide. It works well. Hope this helps.
