Heater (furnace) question

We have a 2014 jay flight swift 264BH. We used the heater for the first time last weekend and it ran constantly regardless of where I set the thermostat. There doesn't seem to be any switches or buttons other than the on /off and the slide on the bottom. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? And if it is, why even have a slide on the bottom. Thank you.

Heater (furnace) question

I have the same thermostat, it sounds like. But the slider on the bottom does work to control the temp. I used it this weekend and it worked great. There are other threads about folks that have put in cheap digital thermostats to replace the one you and I have.

Bikester, does your blower continue to run no matter where you set it?

If you are moving the lower control fast back and forth it will not register. Put the temp all the way to the lowest setting and let it sit for a while and see if it shuts off. If it is like mine it will take a while as the heat will shut off but the blower keeps going for a while after that. I am assuming this is to pull all of the heat out of the unit.

Heater (furnace) question

No, my blower kicks on and off with the furnace. The blower may run a little longer after the furnace kicks off, but it shouldn't run continuously.

Re: Heater (furnace) question

Update. My blower motor does not kick off. The furnace will cycle on and off but that's it. I have the temp setting all the way down.

If the fan motor runs continuously (but the heat cuts on and off), I would suspect a faulty control board on the heater unit....

It's a new trailer. Take it to the dealer. It does come with a 2 year warranty.

Clutch, I'm thinking I might do that it just that the dealer is 150 miles away at 4000 ft lower elevation. Might even be cheaper to pay someone in my town to fix it.

I think a great/cheap place to start would be to pop the cover off the thermostat and make sure ALL the wires are hooked up.

Make sure you dont have 3 sclicks on your thermostat....one for off one for the fan being on all the time and one for it to come on only when the temp drops below the set amount

sibat...great recommendation. The toggle is very difficult on those units...eckman, so maybe you do have 3 settings. Try to move to another setting without breaking the switch.

slabat, I checked and only have on and off. I did pull the cover off and there is a slide on the top left. This slide was pushed up on the screw, I moved it off the screw and it seems to work as intended now. I don't know specifically where that slide should be but the heater worked perfectly throughout the night. Thanks for all the help, to everyone, I appreciate it.

You're so right, Eckman. There's a ton of information here. Some of it's even right.
