Help with putting some numbers together?

Just trying to figure out if I'm pushing the limits on my truck ... I have a 2006 GMC 5.3 ltr with 3.42 rear end... It has a tow package. The owners manual states the the maximum load I can pull is 7700 pounds..

A little descrepency on the numbers for the trailer .... Jayco website states that my 2015 19RD Elite package is as follows:
Unloaded Vehicle Weight - 3715
Dry Hitch weight - 435
Gross Veh Weight - 6000
Cargo Capacity - 2286

The stickers on the trailer state:
Unloaded Veh Weight - 4222
Gross Veh Weight - 6000
Cargo Capacity - 1778

I have a 90 gal fresh water tank = 747 pounds of which I try and not use except for short trips..

Just trying to figure out if I'm at the limit of my pull power .. don't want to damage the tranny.... I'm not sure how to relate

Thanks,

Rick

Looks like a good match to me with those numbers and that length trailer. As for the descrepency on the published versus actual trailer dry weights, that is typical.

I wouldn't give that a second thought for pulling with your truck. Even if you subscribe to the don't go over 80% rule (I don't), that is still 6120 so still above what your camper GVW. Go enjoy your camper and don't give it a second thought.

Rick,

Jayco Published UVW's (web, brochures, etc.) are estimates, the UVW reflected on the yellow sticker are actual 'ship weights' which include other standard/optional products, and the weight of the LP fluid. When UVW's increase, cargo capacities decrease.

Depending on the location of your fresh water tank (for/aft of axles), please note that when filled it may effect your loaded tongue weight (increase or decrease), which in turn may compromise TV handling of the TT. Be careful the first time towing under this condition.

Bob

the 3715 is the bare trailer weight
4222 is your trailer as it left the factory with your options.
THESE NUMBERS MEAN NOTHING.. since you wont ever drive the RV totally empty
6000 is the max weight you should have your RV weigh.. THAT and the true loaded weight are what is important.
Once you are loaded and ready to hit the road weigh your truck trailer combination (truck fully loaded too with cargo and passengers) and see what you have. Then weigh the trailer separately and the truck separately.

You should be fine with this trailer. Go to the towing section of JOF and look at the stickies on how to weigh and set up your trailer and be sure to take it to the CAT scale.
