Hook and chain

We bought a 2011 Jayco and need to replace the hook........where do I find one or do we have to replace the hook and chain. The Hook that came with the RV does not fit onto our towing rig,,,,too small.

you may want to consider using fitting as attached. Some of those will give you some ideas as to what is available

I bought a pair of links, third from the right above and about 8" of chain from the hardware store. Hang them on my TV and hook to them. Done

The big home improvement stores have them. Every size you can imagine.

If you have a Northern Equipment, Tractor supply or a Fleet Farm in your area they should have a good selection. Just remember it is now law, I believe in all states that the hook must have a positive closed latch on it, so it cannot "accidently" disconnect form the TV.

Just be sure to to get steel ones (not aluminum). I did the same as chrismoore when the chains wouldn't reach our new TV.

Be sure to check the working load on whatever you get. You don't want them to break in the event of a trailer break away. They should be at least as strong as the chain itself.

Make sure to get ones that have the right weight rating. You will often see 2 that are the same size, with one being cheaper than the other. That's because they are rated for less weight.
