Hot water only works for a couple seconds
I have a 2012 28 BHS and winterized it for the first time this winter. When I summarized it, I only have a few seconds of hot water at the faucet and it doesn't seem to matter which knob I turn on (hot or cold) I get hot water for about 5 seconds, then it turns cold. I'm assuming I've turned a valve that should not be turned... Any ideas?

Check the center bypass switch on the hot water heater. Your cold water is not blocked from the hot water return side

New problem. I moved the valves as above and now have no cold water. Only hot. Turn on a cold faucet and no water comes out. I did check the valve right before the pump under the kitchen sink and it is open....

Do you have water in your tank or are you hooked up to city water?

Is the pump coming on?
As well check that you have the winterizing line turned to bypass.

It's getting worse. I went out to check to see if the pump is turning on and it is....and keeps running even long after I turn the faucet off. The hot water is coming out of the cold side of the sinks and also when I flush the toilet it's hot water.....
Only valves under the sink that are off are the water heater bypass and the winterize tube... All other valves are open.

Turn off the pump and turn off the burner for the hot water tank, at least for now.
Is there any possibility that you have a broken cold water line and that you don't have water pressure at the cold side because it flowing out of a broken pipe and into the belly of the TT?
Any signs of water leaking?

Second thought. When using fresh water tank ( pump on ), it can take along time to fill the hot water tank with water, and while doing so, you won't get any water out of the cold side- just lots of sputtering air as the water enters the hot water tank and pushes all the air out of the lines. The pump will run the whole time until the tank fills.
Also, outside in the maintenance door for the hot water tank: 1) make sure the drain plug is in and closed., usually white plastic plug at bottom 2) with the pump on, pull up on the pressure release valve and bleed the air from the hot water tank, usually at the top of the tank with a small brass lever.

No water leaking anywhere so doubt I have a broken pipe. If I open the bypass tube valve, I have water at the cold and hot faucets....
There was some air in the water heater so I bled that out and the pump is now working normal....

With the hot water tank bypass valve open, you are back to the original problem aren't you? ( mixing cold water into the hot water line )

Do you have one of those shower heads with the on/ off button on the handle? Check to make sure the hot and cold knobs in the shower are turned off.
If one is open, the water can make a Uturn in the shower head and send water down the opposite pipe

Ok, I'm stumped.
Set the bypass valve back to normal open position and open the cold faucet at the farthest point from the pump.
Turn pump on and see if you are getting air blown out of the lines that ultimately results in water. May take a few minutes.
