Hot Water Tank Drains / Sealed Underbelly

Hmm.. well either Jayco didn't seal the two plastic hot water tank drain pipes, into the underbelly, or the sealing failed, or I caught them on something...

Looks like there is a 3" long (1" wide) hole where the corrugated plastic is just kind of hanging there, {{where the hot water tank drain pipes are}} and there is no expanding foam either. Maybe it wasn't done right and rattled out...

I certainly don't recall catching it on anything, although I did catch just the tip of a rear stabilizer pulling out of the dirt driveway... but there was no damage to the stabilizer.

Should I take it to the dealer for warranty, or do I use the handyman's secret weapon... Duct Tape?

Take it to the dealer if warranty is still in effect. I know that might be the most time consuming route, but in the long run it may save you time from dealing with more issues as a result of.

If you can safely camp in it a few more times before taking to dealer, you may find that some other warranty issues pop up. Before long, you may have a list of several items that could be addressed all in one visit

duct tape is a waste of time, it won't stay stuck.

I was kind of joking about the duct tape!

If I was going to do it, I would do it right.... Buy some black corrugated plastic, cut a square piece big enough to overlap by 1-2", cut a hole for the tubes, then fasten to the existing material by drilling little holes and using plastic rivets (3/16") in the holes.

Then I would use spray-in expanding foam around the tubes to seal the deal.

Of course, that's probably what the dealer will do... I might just tape it so no little critters find their way in before I take it to the dealer...

I have a list of a few minor things that need to be fixed, as well, so probably worth the hook-up and 30 minute drive to the dealer. Besides, I want to buy some sink inserts/cutting boards, there's not enough counter space in the kitchen for an all-out cooking extraveganza!

I'd camp in it a few times-- make a list then drop it off at the dealer.
