Hot water tank plug

The last couple of times we purchased the nylon/plastic plugs for the hot water tank - they would not fit. They are supposedly the 1/2" but are too big. Dealer tells us it is the right size. . . . they DO NOT fit. We have purchased replacement plugs in the past and had no trouble.

Anyone else out there with this problem. We have a 1997 Jayco

You can generally rely on the dealer. That is, whatever they say is probably wrong.
