Our problem is we have to turn on the cold water all the way and then add a little hot. Every time we have someone new with us I have to warn them about the hot water. This is unsat. I understand the concept of using less hot water if it's hotter but this is ridiculous. I have a few winter projects and herewego's suggestion for the adjustable thermostat is one of them.

Same here. Like I said, I installed a adjustable thermostat in the last few trailers we had, and it was so much better. I will be installing one in our new trailer this spring, I should have done it this year, but I never got around to it.

Like someone else said, I turn on the hot water tank heater about 10 to 15 minutes before I shower. I do not pay for electricity but I also see no need to waste it by having it heated all the time.

I would get an adjustable thermostat, if I had little ones or simply continue with the tank not being heated until required.
