Smile How are Jayco's delivered to dealers?

This question came up on another forum and has has contraversial reviews. Considering a Jay flight 29rlds and want to know if it is pulled by a truck or ridden on a flatbed from the facotry to the west coast.
Also does Jayco still have a Mfg. plant in Idaho and what models do they make there.

Thanks to all

That model is 33' 5", quite sure it will be towed via 3/4 or 1 ton. At that length they would only fit another small trailer on the flatbed and not be efficient. From what I've seen flatbeds (transport trucks that is) are usually used for hauling 3 or 4 small single axle trailers.

My 2013 228 was dragged from Indiana to the dealer in Souderton PA. they said it has been years since trailers were thrown onto a flatbed. While we ere waiting for our to be repaired after dragging the plastic underbelly down the street. a new fiver was brought in by an independent dually pickup.

How are Jayco's delivered to dealers?

Jayco does have a plant in twin falls Idaho I believe. I don't know what they make there, other than I saw a list of Jayflight updates that said for 2013 the JayFlight 19rd and 24fbs will be built only in Idaho.

I'm wondering how these trailers can be new if they have "worn " tires on them. Tires useually last 12000 miles or less and that is already 20% worn out???
Maybe the posters that pick up at near factory dealers have somthing there.

You still have to get it home, so wouldn't the mileage on the tires be the same.

Our WhiteHawk's trip from Indiana was only about 1100 miles to the selling dealer. Since I knew the trailer likely rode on Chinese tires I took a good look at them when we bought it. No bulges, blisters, unusual wear or signs of belt twist, and the axle camber appeared to be fine. I have to believe they were the tires mounted at the factory since their serial numbers matched the numbers on the component sheet the dealer gave us at PDI.

From the cheap tires I've seen on these units I'd replace them upon taking ownership if I was buying one. Furthest I've towed to date is around 1600 miles so if tires are only good for 12k might as well replace them!

Talking about tires- don't forget the ST (Special Trailer) tires are only rated for 65MPH so don't take chances and pass everyone on the road...
