how to watch transmission temperature

M TV is Chrysler Town Country 2012.
Dealer told me that the transmission fluid runs into A/C condenser to cool the fluid. So it does not need transmission cooler installed separately.
However, during towing how do I watch my transmission temperature ?
I have a reading for coolant temperature and oil temperature in the engine information center/dashboard. But since the transmission cooling is not related to engine coolant then those reading are not useful.
How do you all watch for tranmission temperature while towing to ensure the tranmission does not burn ? I just wish Chrylser put tranmission temp reading in EIC

I would have an additional transmission oil cooler installed and also a transmission oil temperature gauge installed right after I verified the towing capacity of your tow vehicle matched up with what you are planning to tow.

Not to disparage a car salesman, but I would do some serious checking with Chrysler on the towing specs. because the coolant requirements will change when you are towing and you want to know. Most cars set for towing have additional trans. cooling and the mfg will have specs online informing the owner.

If your vehicle is equipped with a temp sensor on the transmission fluid that information will likely be available via the OBD-II. There are several devices that can plug into that port to give you the ability to monitor transmission fluid temps. ScanGuage II is one that I have, you should check it online. They have published documentation regarding what vehicles provide what information.
