Hummingbird Wet Bath Leak

I noticed a small amount of water in the forward storage compartment. I searched for some time for the source and found when wet bath in use water was seeping below the bath from the outside of the toilet flange. You can see the flange through the opening where the pedal is located. The outside of it is screwed to the subfloor, but not sealed in any way . You can plainly see the openings where water can seep. I am calling the dealer tomorrow to schedule a visit. Should there be sealant around outside of the flang given it is a wet bath? It is so obvious there are gaps I am wondering if it got missed at the factory.

Yes the base of the toilet should be sealed to the fiberglass base, go buy some good caulk and seal it up, save yourself a trip to the dealer and do it yourself and probably get a cleaner looking caulk job.

X2 and while your at it check your sinks, they may need caulking also.

Here is a picture . Water from the shower is seeping around the flange through the subfloor, should there be caulking around the flange? If so what type of caulking is best ?

Picked it up this weekend, they sealed around the flange. I did not really like the toilet anyway so had a Dometic 300 high toilet installed while I was getting the work done. It only weighed about a pound or so more than the original, and has no opening so the entire base could be sealed. If you own a Hummingbird check that flange, service tech agreed it was a miss at the factory.

If you get a chance, I'd like to see a picture of the new toilet. I don't really like how low ours is either.

Sealing the flange was covered under warranty. Replacing the toilet was my choice and I paid for that.

Your dealer should seal the toilet to the base if not done correct for free under warranty, but I doubt they will replace the toilet for free.

I found water beneath my bathroom in my Hummingbird TT RK, I took it to the dealer for other issues as well, I asked them if it could be the flange leaking and they said it looked more like a water line..... I am thinking of just replacing the toilet as well with something that is sealed all the way around and be done with it. Is the hi profile much higher than the Thetford? Just wondering since the wet bath is recessed and the seat would be elevated a bit more.
