I'm feeling better about the 2% hurricane deductible I have............though we are paying State Farm dearly for the privilege.

Wonder when they'll reckon they covered what happened down here in the 2004/2005 seasons and decide the premiums don't need to be jacked every year??????????

We moved to the Clearwater Fl area in 1998, and had State Farm. Then when they had the big insurance shake up, State farm dropped everyone that lived within 2 miles of the gulf. Well being about 200 yards from it we ended up getting Citizens (state run ins provider). Every year we receive letters from small ins companies that want to take us from Citizens. A few that I researched don't have enough backing to replace 2 blocks of houses along the gulf. I keep declining and my rates have actually decreased in the last 2 years, while my neighbors that left Citizens have had major increases by the private ins companies.

I have always believed that if you are an insurance company (like State Farm or Allstate...) , and even health insurance, it should be like it was years ago. One company covering ALL the states averaged out, not a Blue Cross of Illinois, or Blue Cross of Florida..

Just my thoughts,

Don

Our deductible is also 2%, it just works out to 13K on our house.

Blue Cross just dropped the state of NM for 2016 we are too expensive for them.

Few years ago here on Long Island, NY I was at a local campground when a freak storm passed by. Winds like I never seen before. Was sleeping and I heard and felt my trailer hit the ground hard. Scared the crap out of me. Came out side once wind calmed down a bit. Trailer lifted up and turned a bit. Front jack was a foot from it was originally.
