I wished I had a smaller trailer earlier today.
I've never wished that until today. Backing into campsites or pulling into filling stations have never made me wish I had a smaller trailer, but waxing it for the first time today did. I don't even have a great big trailer but it took me almost 5 hours. I don't know how those of you with bigger trailers do it. I guess I should not try and do the whole thing in one day? Maybe I need a buffer too?
Well at least she looks as clean (or cleaner) than the day I picked her up...

I do mine over a 2 day period. The first day I do the high part with the ladder and the second day I just do a walk around and the windows. Mine is only 21' long.

I love my 2014 197 for that reason, plus drag, weight and staying with a medium vehicle. I say the same question every time I see a heavy on the road.

DW and I wax a different section of our Eagle 338 rlts each time we use it. It only takes a few minutes. Over the coarse of several months the whole thing gets waxed. We also clean off any black streaks each time.

WWsmith111 has it right. Unless you don't camp much. Otherwise we wax ours doing a 1/4 or 1/8 at a time. Get up have a cup and do an area before long you have finished. works for us.

Call the guy
We, CALLED THE GUY!!!!
With my back the way it is, it was worth every penny ($$$). They came out to the house and washed it and waxed it. They did a better job than DW and I would have done. They got every crack, cleaned the underside, waxed the tires, inside windows.
Very satisfied and no aches or pains, little thinner wallet..
From now on, we will ALWAYS call the GUY(s),
Will probably have them out to do the TV in January.
Don

You guys are lucky, We live in a Jayco 40 FER---41 feet of trailer------We travel in a 35 foot trailer. Both of our trailers have siding. Yes it does take a few days to get them both done. Wax on Wax off. is very well known at my house.

Heck I Use a power buffer to apply and take off the wax, then I bring it to a brilliant shine with the polishing bonnet. Wash and wax....4 hours, wife's car 1.5 hr, my truck 2.5 hrs, my car 2 hrs, my daughter's car, she is on her own on that....I do enough regular maintenance and repairs on it. Trying to teach her the real costs to owning her own car....and the wife? Happy wife, happy life....

Yeah starting next season I will be doing it in parts. I'd actually like a bigger trailer but after waxing today I'm not sure...

Use 3m's McGuire's Quik Wax. I can do a car in about 15 minutes and it shines better than any paste wax I've ever used. Just spray it on and wipe it off.
I did my boat this Fall for the first time and I couldn't believe how it shined. Next year I'll do the Jayco.

I'm kindof a car nut. If my car don't shine, I'm not happy. My Dad used to swear by Johnson's paste wax, but what a bear to apply. Worst of all it didn't last thru a Winter.
For years and years I used to use Rally. It would get me mostly thru a Winter and 3 coats a year was about what it to keep the car beading.
About 7 or 8 years ago I switched to McGuires Cleaner wax and found it to be awesome. Spring and Fall and all was good. It still required an hour or so and you had to buff it off.
Two years ago I found the Quik Wax. Its in a spray bottle and requires no buffing. Just spray it on and wipe it off. It literally takes me 15 minutes (after washing and drying the car) and it lasts a full year. What's awesome about it is that after you finish the surface feels so smooth and it seems to shed the dirt.
In my case, when I say "Winter" I mean Buffalo, NY with salt on the roads 6 months of the year.
As an aside, the companion product is an interior vinyl protector and what it does to vinly roofs, the black moldings on the lower panels on the car, as well as interior vinyl seats is just awesome.

You should know the folks reputation before they start, and the good ones can be pricey - but they are worth it. There is a big difference between a detailer and someone that bought a bucket and brush. In Florida, (Donedroolin, I don't know about upstate NY.) some of the CG's have mobile RV / TV / park model detailers that are only allowed on the property because of their reputations. I got to know one (a really good one) who had been working at a CG for 15 years and they remind him every so often "If you start getting complaints, you're not welcome to return.
