Ideas on where to put the generator outside of the trailer

Hi,

I have a Kipor generator with the following specification:

- Weight: ~49 pounds
- (L x W x H): 20 x 12 x 17

I would like to carry the generator somewhere outside of the trailer, I was planning on building a metal box (they are too expensive to buy) and connect the metal box on the bumper of the trailer.

I have a Jayco 26H. The bumper is (probably standard) 4x4. Looks strong but I want to make sure I'm not doing something crazy here.

The idea is to have the box on top of the bumper.

I will put 2 bars under the box, these two bars will be attached to a metal plate under the bumper. Simmilar to connect a hitch receiver on the bumper.

The weight will be 49 pounds of the generator + the weight of the box.

Can the bumper handle that?

Any other idea on how I can store the generator? I would like to avoid to put on the storage compartment or inside the trailer/car.

Your Jayco owners manual will tell you how much weight the bumper can hold. I have a Jayflight 22FB and the bumper can hold 100 lbs.

Keep an eye on your tongue weight if you mount it on the bumper.

Why not build a box over your batterys. That size generator should fit between the propane tanks and trailer body. Just leave enough room to service the battery's.
