Interior Wiring Questions...

Alright, y'all are going to get tired of me, but here are a few more questions for ya...

1> We pulled the couch out of the slide to take a little of the weight from the trailer, plus we love our glider style rockers. Question is this...what are the wires that were just loose under the couch? A couple of them look like speaker wires, but there are three that actually look like power wires. Checked w/multimeter and no juice to any of them...

2> What would cause the light fixtures to be black behind the bulb? Looks like at one time or another they arced out, but the lights work fine...except for main light in bunkhouse gets hot fairly quickly.

3> Would it be possible to hook up dual marine batteries w/a switch between them as in a boat? That way I can just switch from one to the other for use as well as charging?

For item #3. Yes. Many bondocking RVs/TTs use dual batteries and have a multi-postion 12V switch. For example, only Bat 1, only Bat 2 or both Bat 1+2 or NO power. re: http://www.modmyrv.com/wp-content/ga...ch-combo-1.JPG

For item #2. Could be "too hot" (or too high wattage) of bulb. Most likely from "too hot" - from over cooked oil from one's hands (when they installed the bulb). When replacing light bulbs, NEVER use your bare hands. This leaves an oil film behind. And that oil firm will "over cook" and turn the surface to black. When changing bulbs, always use a dry tissue (between the fingers and bulb surface). Thus, no oil film is left behind. Same when replacing head lights in an automobile as well.

For #1. Not too sure. Perhaps someone with a "2006 Jayco Jayflight 31 BHS" can answer this question....

Thanx Spike99! Gonna hook up the batteries just like in a boat. Just got thru following the wires, and they go up to the entertainment center area and are loose there also. Got multimeter and checked continuity, and none of them are hooked up to anything...go figure!

Question # 1 the wires could be for powering the air bed. We have the same thing in our trailer when we took out a couch/air bed.
