Is this water OR slide damage???ASAP

There is protrusion of some sort coming through wallpaper above slide out. My husband picked at it last night b/c he thought it was a screw coming through. Turns out, it crumbles like dirt or something like that. This was our first year keeping it somewhere for the season. It was totally recaulked by dealer last year. Does any one know what it could be??

The picutre does not give me a lot of additional information. But if it was the slide, I would expect to see wear marks from two surfaces rubbing on each other. Being you say it is crumbling, and the wall paper appears to be buckling, I suspect water damage. Time to rechech the caulk and the rubber gaskets on the slide(s) to make sure they are sealing up tight.

Another pic of damage

I've checked caulk and around slide out, but don't see anything. Also, nothing seems soft.

All " bubbles" have a hard substance behind them. Again, no softness?

That location could be getting water from just about anywhere if it is water damage. It would be a roof issue not a slide issue.

Looks like water damage to me also. Something on the roof is leaking and needs immediate attention!

Yep, raised dimples like that are a result of moisture exposure......, I'd check the roof/wall seam above the slide, specifically along the gutter rail.

What you have, sad to say, is the header above you slide out is rotten. I had the same problem with another trailer I had. I was 5years out of warranty and was able to get the manufacturer rebuild it with an "in plant repair" and split the cost. I had to take the trailer from SC to IN to get the repair done. Cost me around $3k (my was cost fixed) based on an estimate that was given by a repair shop they sent me to. When they removed the slide out it collapsed due to concealed water damage that they also had to repair. They wound up rebuilding the slide out and repairing the header and replacing the entire fiberglass exterior of the left side. It turned out to be a great experience. That was done in 2006 and it is still holding up. By the way, I wouldn't trust a dealer to do the caulking as most of them aren't to reliable. What you have is a major problem. You must find where the moist is coming from and suspect it is from the gutter and/or roof area some where of the side of the trailer the leak is on. There will not necessarily be a lot of soft spots. Yopu can PM me if you like.
