Jacks/Supports Under Slides?

How does everyone feel about putting jacks or supports under the slide outs in their Jayco?

My 2010 32BHDS is parked seasonally and will likely not move for the next three years. Through October we will be in it at least once every few days for various lengths of times. I'd really like to leave the slides out for the season - especially since I had a small "failure to launch" problem last weekend and my wife will be at the camper frequently without me.

I see a handful of other seasonally parked trailers that have supports under the slides. Is there a best practice for this? I assume that the supports should be placed on the bottom floor of the slides rather than the actual slide arms - or is it better to support the actual slide arms themselves?

Is there any reason why I shouldn't support the slides or leave the slides out until next November?

I have always heard not to put jacks under the slide outs do to shifting. I personally do not use them on my camper that is set up on a seasonal site also. I leave my slides out from spring to fall. During the winter we are not there alot so i bring them in.

If I was to do it, I would put them under the slide supports. The floor is flimsy plywood and likely to crack or warp. We thought about it as the huge opposing slides on ours makes it tough to stabilize but and if we did seasonal I would definitely have them..

There have been other threads on this subject on the forum. I think the general consensus is that you risk causing damage to your slides if you try to support them.

Slideouts are designed to support their own weight. If your trailer settles even a little bit, and your slide jacks do not give, something else will. I would never put jacks under my slideouts.

X2, or is it 3? Our camper has shifted substantially twice during heavy downpours. You don't want your slides to stay in their location when the camper has left there! We've experienced minor settling at other times. Those slides need to move with the rest of the unit, IMHO.
