Jay Flight 23MB versus Jay Flight SLX 264BHW

My wife and I are finally making the transition from popup land. We are considering the Jay Flight SLX 264BHW and the Jay Flight 23MB. We like both, but are leaning towards the lower cost 264BHW and like the idea of not having to deal with the murphy bed.

We have a 2014 Ram 1500 Crew: V8/8spd/3.21/brake ctrlr. I plan to get a WDH with sway bars. The GVWR and dry hitch weight are similar and doesn't seem too heavy for my tow vehicle. I've only pulled a popup before, so I am not sure if the 29' of the 264BHW makes a big difference in towing.

Assuming I don't go crazy and store alot of stuff and greatly increase the hitch weight with the 264BHW, will the 3' shorter 23MB be that much easier to tow? We'd appreciate some experienced input from those members with similar setups.

I am in the same situation as you. We decided on going with the 23MB because we wanted the smaller trailer and the thermal package for winter camping. What did you end of going with?

We all eventually end up with a 30 footer. Might as well start there.

We started looking at the 23 MBH since my wife really wanted a slide out if we were going with a shorter camper. My local dealer had both the 23MBH and a Rockwood mini-lite 2504s that we liked. We ended up getting the 2504s since it offered alot more internal and external storage and was lighter.

I bought the 23MB. The Murphy bed decreases the overall length of the trailer to 26'-10 as opposed to 29 feet. Actually the Murphy bed works out nice because you fold it up and never have to worry about making up the bed. I have a 1/2 ton short bed supercrew truck and the 23MB is just about as long as I want to pull with it.You should be fine with either choice. You get the two large bunk beds in both models, just no slides. And actually no mechanical failures or skinned floors floors when the slides fail.
