Jay Flight 33 bhts issues

We have had 3 jayco units this being the first new one and we are not please with the overall quality and workmanship . I'm a mobile home factory worker so I understand how the assembly line works and how mostly its the suppliers quality that gives the manufacturer a bad name. but in this case its mostly the manufacturer. We had the unit back after the first trip for several issues the back wall seperating from the bunks , junk under the linoleum , scratches in the wall board , 12v outlet falling out of wall , several drawers adjusted , screws broken off , the bottom board not sealed against the unit. and a few more things I can't remember at this time. We now had tried to hang a television in the bunk room and yep right where the sticker is there's no backer. Several holes later and a stud finder I was positive the was no backer there. WOW. We were mad; as I had hung one in the front bedroom with no trouble everything went as planned. The dream we bought seems to be slowly fading to a below average unit. I made my wife buy the jayco name and now I'm questioning my decision. Jayco wants to replace the complete rear wall to install the backer as its fiberglass. I'm unsure what to do now.

We also had multiple problems with Jayco quality. We found that the warranty is very good and they took care of most of our issues.

So far they seem to be helpful. I was just wondering if this was common practice for jayco to forget backers and such on there units ? and has anybody ever had a rear wall replaced with good results ? thanks Troy

I had my entire Filon entry wall (curb side) and rear wall replaced a few years back...., the whole R&R process went well and it's fine to-date.

JUST an update . My jayco has been at the dealer since 10/16/14 and they are gone till after January 4th 2015 waiting on a complete rear wall. There has been several other issues since last dealer tripas well. We have a very leaky window .. found a split in the fiberglass next to the molding .. black water tank wouldnt drain and several other smaller things. We are wondering if we made a good decision buying a new trailer or kept the 10 year old with no problems. I called jayco and they offered hope but actions speek louder than words. If funding would allow it we would be shoping for a new one , not to sure I would be a repeat customer. Feeling like this was a poor choice I know most people have had good luck and my last 2 have been near flawless.

I went to the dealer today and they replaced the rear wall and did most of the other work needed except the leaky window. Now the kicker there is no backer to mount the television to just like the wall we just replaced ! ! Now I'm stuck with a $65 mount I can't use and the rear of our trailer for tv watching is basicly useless . the only place you can see it from is the upper bunk ! Too steep of angle to view it from anywhere else. We wish we would of known this before ordering this unit . We had purposely picked this unit because of quality jayco is known for and so far nothing but disappointments. I hope your experiences have been better than ours. I even called the factory and asked them to extend our warranty and they very hastily declined we don't ever do that ! I'm positive we will never buy another jayco unless they soon step up . its cost us a bunch , the tv mounts also maybe a battery as its still in the trailer and running to the dealer and no driveway sleep outs since October. This has been a night mare

Is there supposed to be a backer there? Didn't the dealer specifically replace the wall in order to install a backer? If that is the case I would be raising hell with the dealer right now.

Jayco the company has a great reputation and I would expect them to try to make it right. Individual dealerships can ruin that reputation with incompetence. If they were supposed to replace the wall and install the backer and they didn't then I would talk to the manager of the entire dealership. If they can't make it right, I would go to Jayco. If Jayco authorized the repair and paid for the dealer to make it right, I think they will be rightly upset.

Keep us posted.
