Jay Flight vs Jay Flight SLX

It's been a couple years since we lost our 26BH to hail. Now we have a granddaughter and it's time again to purchase a camper. Tow vehicle is no issue as we have a 2015.5 GMC 3500HD Duramax but I'd like something we can get into most parks with. The 26BH was a nice size and looking to stay similar but prefer a slide this time. We like the ammenities of the Eagle and such but with little ones learning the ropes figured we'd wait a few years to get them through the destructive years.

My question is for others who've contemplated these model lines: Has the price difference been significant enough to do without some of the ammenities? We don't do much other than sleep in ours with the occasional rainy day activities but I will not sacrifice build quality for a few $s.

Ones in particular we're looking at are SLX:264BHX, 267BHSW, 287BHSW. Jay flight: 26BH, 26 BHS, 27BHS, 28BHBE. Preference is the 267BHSW and the 28BHBE due to U shaped dinette.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I own a 2015 267slx and the only things I wished it had was an electric water heater and wall thermostat controlled AC. Some of the bells and whistles you get on other models I don't care for. I like the stripped down version that way I can add what I like. Less things to go wrong.

Same here - while the expensive models have some nice features, it wasn't worth it to us.

We went the other way, for <$2k I liked the extras. Larger water tank, porcelain toilet, hydraulic Rams on bed for lifting, snap up hinges on overhead cabinets, larger fridge etc. for us it was worth the little bit extra.

Now if the difference was $5k and not ~$2k I would have chose swift SLX. It's been a few years too, so I am not sure all the differences today.

I have a 2015 267bhsw, no complaints at all and we are extremely happy. It tows very well. So far the only things I've done are hang a tv and add a divider under the bed between the pass through storage and bed storage area. It provides a little extra support for the bed too.

We went looking yesterday and I believe we are leaning towards the Jay Flight or even Eagle line now.

If you can afford to shoot the 270wsm then you can afford to buy the Jay Flight or Eagle!

X2 I wish I had the electric water heater and thermostat. Other than that, don't miss much else. The upgrades would be nice, but I can live without them. My main regret is not getting the outdoor kitchen. We bought a 287bhsw new last year and love it. If I had it to do over again though, I would have gone with the jay flight 29 bhds.

Pulled the trigger this morning and purchased a 2016 Eagle 284BHBE.

We really liked the new exterior color on the Jay Flight line up but we bought this Eagle for less money than a 2016 Jay Flight 28BHBE, they wanted $1000 more on the inbound 28BHBE than the 284BHBE that they received in February. No brainer for us, 35% off MSRP and more camper than we had initially set out to buy.

Looking forward to hooking up and seeing how that Duramax does.
