Jayco 28 BHE new battery suggestions

Long story folks but I'm a new trailer owner and destroyed the two batteries that came with my new travel trailer. So I need two new ones. Can I get some suggestions of which new ones to purchase and why you suggest it? I'm new to this and any help would be much appreciated.

When mine died after 4 years, I bought 2 group 24 deep cycle batteries from O'Reillys Auto Parts.

They are great for my needs, which are opening the slides and operating lights for short durations.

The first question to ask, how do you plan to use the tt?

If you plan to stay primarily at full hook up sites a single group 24 dual use battery will be fine. Primary use will be for the e-brakes, and some lights once and a while.

If you are looking at stay if the grid for a long weekend or more. The consider two 6V golf cart batteries.

We spend most our time without any hook ups. Do you recommend a brand?

We are out for about four days at a time. Should I get something stronger?

I would want some method of charging my batteries if I was off the power grid for 4 days. Small generator?

Yes I have a Honda 2000 watt generator.

You'll need to do some research and planning. Because no matter which brand of batteries you buy, 6 volt or 12 volt, you could destroy them, too.

Use the search function and see what has been posted on this site in the past. It shouldn't take you too long to discover that there are no easy answers. It's not rocket science, but maybe it could be called '12 volt' science.

My question is now that you are a professional at killing batteries, how did you do it and what are you doing so that it does not happen again.

Replacing batteries can be EXPENSIVE. If you are not sure as to how you killed them or do not intend on properly maintaining them, then just buy 2 cheap Interstate 24 type batteries and use them to figure out what you did wrong. You do not need to kill two expensive Trojans...

Do you monitor your batteries?
Do you check the water levels regularly?
Do you keep them fully charged when not in use?
Do you check the battery connections for lose or corroded connections?
Proper size wire?
Do you drain them below 12VDC?
Change to LED's?
Inverter to large for system?
Watching toooooo much Tv at night?
Running the system heater and wearing down the battery?

What killed them?

Just a few questions to answer before anyone can make a recommendation....
