Jayco Eagle battery question

I am a totally ignorant person to RV usage and I just purchased a 2014 Jayco Eagle 284 BHBE. I have to keep it at a storage facility because there is no room to get anything larger than a pop-up into my driveway due to a telephone pole. Is there any way to turn off my battery power other than unhooking the battery each time? The service man at the dealership told us to remove the 30volt fuse that was attched to the battery, however, that didn't work. I called today and told him that didn't work and he said that normally does the trick, but maybe my battery is hooked up differently. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Does your trailer have a power tongue jack? If so it has its own fuse. Make sure that's not the one you are disconnecting. Look for a different one going back toward the trailer. Otherwise you will have to disconnect one of the battery leads. The propane sensor and other loads inside will drain your battery in a week or two.

Thanks for the tip. That sounds correct. I did notice a 5volt fuse in the front storage compartment. Maybe that's the fuse I need to pull?? If not, any ideas on what that fuse is for? I tried to pull it off to see if that would disconnect the electric, but boy that sucker is on there. When I went today the CO detector was beeping at me, so I know my battery is draining. I'm going to bring my husband's truck over tomorrow and hook up the battery.

Just get you a battery disconnect. Very easy install and makes things easy and fast when putting it in storage. Many styles on the market but here is what i use. Click image for larger version

There are several types of battery disconnect. One of them would be your best bet. You just flip the switch and your either off or on.

Some service man. Search "battery disconnect switch" and take your pick.

x3 ... another consideration when choosing the battery selector is if you are running multiple batteries they make "make before break" models. With this if you are running inverters the power will not drop when changing batteries with the selector, as well as turn the connection to the trailer off.
I am running two banks of two batteries, and use this to switch banks.
