Jayco FayFlight Fiberglass Siding

Just wanted to share...

We are searching for our new TT and was interested in the new fiberglass siding option on the JayFlight line. I sent and email to Jayco inquiring about the the JayFlight fiberglass construction process, trying to confirm it was the same process. Today I received an email reply letting me know it is NOT the same vacuum bonded process described for other Jayco fiberglass sidewalls.

Per the email ... "the fiberglass sidewalls on the Jay Flight are attached just as the metal would be attached. They are not vacuum bonded. We do not use gel coat on the fiberglass on the Jay Flight line."

Additionally I asked about weight increase with fiberglass sidewall on the 32BHDS. Answer -- "the addition of the fiberglass sidewalls would add approximately 253 pounds"

Since I was curious, I though others may want to know too.

I suppose they still use a wood frame on the glass sided Jayfights which would be another difference over the other lines.

Great information, because I was wondering as well......, but now the real question: If isn't vacuum bonded (Filon), then what type of fiberglass is it? I'm going to an RV show this week, I'll check to see if there's one at the show.

I know the Eagle's comes standard with the Tuff Shell vacuum bonded sidewalls (Filon), but there is an option for the Gel-Coat sidewalls.
