Jayco TT model codes????

I own a new 2014 White Hawk 30SDRE. The code apparently stands for double slide and rear entertainment center. The "30" apparently stands for the length of the actual RV not including the front A frame since the total trailer length is 33' and the living unit is 30' approximately. I am naturally kind of drawn to the other Jayco's I see on the road or in the campgrounds. I've seen BH which I think stands for bunkhouse and a bunch of other initials on the various models. Does anyone know what the Jayco codes mean?

In response to another thread on this forum several months ago, I contacted Jayco directly about their code system for trailers, and they responded that there was no particular system - their designers just decided on a designation for each model as it went into production, so the letters and numbers really didn't stand for anything in particular. DSRE could also be dual slide rear entry, but that is not official Jayco. Another example - my 29RLTS 5er is actually 30 feet not counting the overhang, and 33 1/2 feet counting the overhang. Go figure.

30DSRE I believe is 30 feet in length, Deep Slide, as the slide out in the back is 3 feet deep and Rear Entertainment as there is no rear entry on this model. Also we are talking travel trailer here and not 5th wheel.
With the White Hawk series any of the DSXX models represent a 3 foot deep slide out. Those models with only a one foot have only an S in the model designation. Such as the 26SRK 26 feet long, 1 foot slide out and a rear kitchen.
the first 2 digits are the size of the trailer not including the Tongue, the next 1 or 2 digits DS or S represents the slide outs. DS = Deep Slide. S = 1 foot slide with the remaining digits representing the floor plan. QB = Quad Bunks, RK = Rear kitchen,
RB = Rear Bathroom, BH = Bunk House, and LB = L shaped bunks. It all works and I've never heard of an engineer or company not having a designation planned well ahead of time. The names or acronyms may change as the unit goes through it's conception to the final product. But there is always a reason for what they choose.

I thought this was somewhere on this site as far as the letter codes.
256 rks (rear kitchen slide)

Sometimes the codes make no sense, our Pinnacle is a 35LKTS (Jayco's Spec Length 40' 4") but the 36KPTS, 36RETS and 36RSQS are all shorter and under 40' according to Jayco's Length Spec.

So why is our unit shown as a over 40' unit with starting Digits of 35 starting but all the Pinnacles that begin with starting Digits of 36 are shorter?

I assume 35LKTS means "Laundry Kitchen Triple Slide" since our Stackable Washer Dryer is in our Kitchen.

IMHO Jayco has never had a rhyme or reason to their letter designations. For example I own a 1990 250 Special. Try and figure out what that stands for lol

We were admiring a Premier 36REQS in the site next to us yesterday. The fellow had just bought it in Bozeman and would live in it for extended periods on different job sites. He was explaining the RE indicated rear entertainment and said his salesman told him and his wife that the QS meant it had a queen sofa! My DW suggested it just might refer to the four slides hanging off it. The lights came on and we all had a good laugh.

Our 351RLTS, in 38 1/2' long. Rear Living, Triple Slide . I have been told the 351 was sq. ft.

But I think they just have a box full of letters and numbers. Someone throws them on the floor and someone else pick them up. That is the designation

Thanks to everyone. Makes me feel better that I'm not going crazy. Well maybe I am, but not for this reason. Think my wife and I will kind of make this a road trip game. Figure out the Jayco model we saw at the gas station or campground.

LOL, sometimes those salesman don't know their product and just make it up as they go!

Lord help them if they ever said, "I don't know".

Norty1, I usually will run, at least mentally, when I discover I know more about the product than the salesman. We just bought a car from a guy who corrected me when I made a wrong statement on an SUV we had been shopping for some time. Too often the salesmen haven't sold the car or boat or trailer much longer than you've been shopping for it.

For everyone's info, I posted the following quote that I received on Jan 28, 2013 from Cressida Burkus, Jayco Customer Service Specialist: "The model number is not the length it is just a number that Jayco comes up with to differentiate all of our many models we have here at Jayco".

Perhaps this will put to rest the discussions of what the model numbers might mean, why they don't correspond to length, and why some larger numbers are actually shorter trailers.

Thanks for clarifying that info. It would make sense to have some continuity in naming and numbering by different manufacturers but in the real world it is just another marketing tool like drug makers use to sell a product.

Main thing is to know that the numbers can not be used to allow the customer to compare different models.

Our Jayco is a Jayfeather 28U. No hints in the lettering there but the cabin is close to 28 feet.
