Ladder

I have a 2016 174BH. So far I am loving it. I would like a ladder to access the roof though.

I am looking for advice on weather or not to have the pro's mount a ladder or if someone handy (such as myself) can do it with minimal headaches. My biggest concerns are leaks and voiding my warranty.

Is it safe to mount a ladder to this model or is it made without a ladder for a reason?

Thanks for all help!

Best thing is to contact Jayco and explain what you like to do. They can tell you if there is backing in the back wall and roof for fastening.
An other alternative is to buy one of those fold up type ladders which you can throw in the bag of a pickup.

I have a ladder mounted on mine and I hate using it to straight up and hard to get on roof. I bought one of the telescoping ladders and could not be happier with it.

I can move it where I need it to clean slide or whatever needs done.

I've never been on the roof of my TT. I carry a 6' fiberglass step ladder, and with it I can pretty much reach all parts of the roof, except for the air conditioner. I've replaced the outer skylight cover and the entire exhaust fan assembly from the ladder, and can check all the sealant.

I know that one of these days I'll be replacing the foam seal under the AC unit, and that'll be the time I'll have to actually get on the roof. Other than that, I prefer to stay off of it.

I believe you cannot mount an exterior ladder on your TT.

I have a ladder on the back and rarely use it. I'm not the smallest guy in the world and it seems a little shoddy and weak for me to climb but I have. I can feel it bending and contorting when I'm climbing it. I use a cheap aluminuminumnuimunumnuim ladder now.
