My awning lights are on the roller, not up in the corner between the rig and the awning. I have to try this.

I just ordered mine. The only thing I don't like about my trailer is those damn bright lights. This looks like exactly what I needed. Thank you to the OP!!

I called Jayco and made the recommendation that they seriously consider putting the dimmer on ALL LED equipped awnings. They said NO, THEY CAN'T DO THAT.
Hmmmm, wonder why not?

I installed the tape this weekend. Couldn't have been easier! Fit in there perfectly.
I like it, the wife isn't too sure about the color yet. It's definitely not as bright. In theory being yellow it should attract less bugs. I guess we will find out when we go camping.
Two notes. I highly recommend climbing up and cleaning the LED strip with some window cleaner first. It was crazy just how dirty it was. Second, take some Advil the next day! Man my legs really felt the climbing up and down a stepladder 20-30 times!!!

Anyway It's a cheap easy mod for sure.

I got mine on Amazon. It's the 1/4 inch stuff.
Here's the link http://amzn.to/2ai26Vt
But hurry because they are low on inventory!

I know, thats crazy. If I can do it in 15 minutes, they can do it as they are assembled. The part cost less than $5, remote and all.

I think the thing is that they can't do a dimmer and have it tied into the Lippert wireless remote thing because of how it's wired or something like that. Seems to me that Lippert needs to come up with a dimming module as part of their remote control system.
But in the mean time, I'm glad for the tape. Think I'll do the multicolor under the trailer next.

I put one in mine. The jayco remote still works to roll it in and out like before. I now have second remote to dim lights.

I had the sylvania multi color on my old rig. We loved them. 16 color choices. The bad...we put them on the roller and after a couple years, they got sticky and started sticking to the awning and when we rolled it out, you could hear it peeling itself off the awning...not good.

Right but my remote turns on and off the LED strip light as well. I think that part doesn't work or isn't compatible with a dimmer if what I have read is correct.

Is your remote the one that is a touchscreen cell phone looking remote?
