LED tail lights - best place to get?

I know that this has been discussed here before, but I just spent a half hour searching and couldn't find what I was looking for. I want to replace my tail lights with LEDs and want to know the best solution. I believe some folks have just swapped the bulb with an element from Command Electronics, but I went to their page and can't figure out what I should be ordering. I wouldn't mind replacing all of the running lights with LEDs either, but I fear that may be out of budget.

What have y'all done? Part numbers are appreciated!

Hello TexasA&M,

I just changed a broken marker light with one from Command Electronics. ... good product, price, and service. I dealt with Barb. [EMAIL="barb@commandelectronics.com"] At my request they sent me a catalog with the light fixture. I think it includes what you are looking for.

Here is their contact info:
Command Electronics
15670 Morris Industrial Drive
Schoolcraft, MI 49087

Phone: (269) 679-4011
Fax: (269) 679-5410

Hope this helps,

How do I know which light I need for a direct replacement though? I don't have access to the trailer right now, and I can't get a picture of exactly what the tail light looks like in my head. I don't want to replace the whole fixture (lens, etc), just the bulb.

I would suspect that your TT has sideways mounted bulbs. I would get a bulb with the most amount of sideways light. Something like this one.

If you replace the bulbs , you should really buy red , the white will be very bright and bleed through the red lens , and looks almost white , but the red bulb will also illuminate the license plate in red also , On our last trailer I bought the whole LED taillight housing from Harbor freight for around 50 dollars
