I like the residence best, it is like a regular home toilet and has better water flow for flushing. I miss typed on model name. It was actually a Thetford Magic V with foot flush, which is a good toilet but the Residence is the best one. I just like it better.

The Residence also will take a regular house style toilet seat, even a padded one. This might be a future upgrade. It still has the original one on it.

I don't know what model is in our 33RLDS but it is porcelain and not plastic.

Heck, that's one of the reasons I bought a camper.... to have the toilet right there!

Spray nozzle....I can't help but think "bidet".

Let me know what type of seat you find that will fit the Thetford. I had no luck.
I'm with you on the deed thing. I thought it meant something else as well. We were talking deed and toilets and I thought I was missing something

Who knew this thread would create so many replies ;-). It made me wonder...I know there is special RV toilet tissue that is safe for the holding tank but how about the pre-moistened wipes (sort of like baby wipes) Cottonelle for example. Are these appropriate for the holding tank. They say they are sewer and septic safe but what about RV's???

Use any paper that says Septic Safe. We never put those wipes in the tank. They don't break down Nd can make big problems at dump time.
We have always used the same paper we choose at home. It can be traumatic changing brands when camping.

I doubt there are too many of us guys that would turn down the opportunity to do the other deed when the opportunity presents itself....in the camper or out of it.

We avoid the number 2 but sometimes you gotta go ya gotta go. I fill the bowl with a bit water a courtesy flush and finish up.

I have never done it but it is rumoured that some people stand up to wipe. No clearance issues there. Give it a try!

This thread reminds me a little of my brother-in-law's father a "long time" ago. They had just put indoor plumbing in the house. This was the first indoor plumbing he had ever had. A few days later he was seen coming out of the backyard outhouse early one morning and was asked why he wasn't using his new indoor potty vs being outside in the cold. His answer "I just can't get used to pooping (he didn't say pooping) in the house".

I am like other previous posts, I like my own potty and is why I have my own potty. I will use a campground potty if I'm walking by one and the need arises, but I definitely don't hesitate to use the one in my 5'er.
