Low point drain

I just sanitized my potable water tank. I had filled it completely, pressurized the system and ran water through all of the lines. My issue is that when I drained the tank, nothing came out of the low point drain. In my 2 previous trailers, when I did this excercise, I always had water come out of the low point drain. Is this usual for nothing to come out? This is a first in my 16 years of trailer ownership.

On your old trailers, were the fresh water tanks located inside the trailer on the floor? On your new trailer is the fresh water the same way or is it now located underneath the floor? If it's underneath, none of the low point drain valves inside the trailer will produce any water from the fresh water tank because the tank (and any water in it) is lower than them. However, you should have a separate drain valve that's used solely for draining the tank. The valve will be located undrerneath the trailer in the proximity of the fresh water tank.

Hope this helps solve your mystery.

Thats right, the low point drain is not for the water tank. There is a seperate valve for draining it. My low point drains, drain the interior plumbing and the hot water tank if you open the valves and a hot water faucet inside the trailer.
