Lubricant

I am getting noises from my hitch. What type of lubricant do you use? Dry or old fashion grease or some thing I am not aware of that works well with no or little mess.

Do you know where the noise is coming from, WD bars, sway control, ball? Hitch noises are common and grease is not recommended as they collect dirt. If you have a sway control don't use any lub on it and it can be noisy. We don't use any lub at all and have gotten use to the noise.

I agree, there are noises inherent to pulling a trailer. However, I use a teflon lubricant I purchased at Camping Worls. It is on the trailer, otherwise I would tell you the name. I clean the ball hitch and and load levelers and relube.

Take a bit of wax paper, just enough to cover the ball, and place it on the ball before hitching up. This will act like a lube and not attract dirt. Depending on your WD bars a SMALL shot of lithium grease will work wonders, or you can try a shot of WD40.

JUST REMEMBER when you unhitch to fish out the little bits that are left inside the coupler.
