manual slide out

Hello all
I have a 2002 KIWI TOO 26 S with a manual slide
Has anyone ever converted one to some sort of power type
I have thought about a sizzor jack type of system
I would love to hear any thoughts
Thanks
Harry

I haven't converted one to a power slide but sounds like something I'd like to do if I were in the same situation. Do they make a power slide option in the model that you have? Could you compare and replicate what they have engineered. That would be my first logical step.

A few ideas come to mind off the top of my head. Could you use a small garage door opener and limit the pull length, setting it up with a system of pulleys. The newer ones have electronic eyes that could trigger the system to stop. If it met resistance it also would automatically stop.

Another idea I just thought of is using a electric jack from the front of your trailer. After getting the trailer to the right height ,you could employ the jack underneath the slide somehow and use the same motor for working your slide out. (wow this is good... I should write some of this down.)

Let us know how you make out

Richard,
I'm also a cancer survivor. Nice to meet another survivor. Life is good.
