Max Air vent 2
So I installed my first ever Max Air vent two. I put it on the vent in the bathroom over the big existing fan in there. Now can I really leave this open all the time, even when it rains. Two I installed it, because of the bowed roof it does not sit flush to my roof, does others sit flush on yours. Don't think I would want it to anyway. The Max air two is on a hinge so you can open it to clean under it and is suppose to have larger vents then standard. Does anyone notice a restriction in air to the trailer with these installed. I wanna see how we like it before I buy two more and drill more holes in the sides of my other two vents.

Same here, when installed properly I can open my vent almost all the way.
I see no difference in air flow and a world of benefit.

I have 2 Max air1's (bedroom and bathroom)and a Max2 over the kitchen, couldn't tell you if there is a difference in air movement. All 3 can be opened to clean. The Max1's have been installed on 3 different trailers, 2005, 2008, 2012 the Max2 has been on 2, 5ers, 2008, 2012. When ever we traded units I removed the covers and reinstalled them on the new unit. I filled the screw holes with clear silicone caulking.
And yes the inside cover touches the outer cover stopping it from opening completely however the angle of the opened interior cover reaches the top of the vent holes of the exterior cover if that makes sense.
They are white in colour and still look good.

Thank you guys, and yes DMR, it makes sense. Glad to here you like them so much. Do you leave them open all the time even when raining, without water getting in. What about a storm. Also glad to here they hold up so well.

They are open unless the ac is on. During storms we monitor in case the direction of the rain or amount causes entry. During the winter I keep one cracked open slightly to allow any dampness to exit. Also when washing the roof make sure the hose stream doesn't aim in to the vents.

We have the Maxx 2, it's open all time except for A/C high humidity days, then closed. Never any probs when open, we've had no water enter during rain. We leave it open while in storage too. I'm a fan.

Installed the Maxx1 on my Winnebago to get rid of the original noisy single speed fan. Moved it to the Jayco cuz it had the same noisy single speed bath fan. Moves a lot of air and won't leak if left open in the rain.

We have a Max Air 2 vent, it sit 1/2" off on the roof. We leave the vent open all year. At first we checked it for leaks while driving and during storms. I have never noticed a drop of water.

Just took the first trip in our 26 bh and have one installed in bathroom. Late Friday and Saturday night and early Sunday morning we had heavy rains vent was open the whole time and not a drop of water came in. I have TT stored in driveway and I closed vent prior to heading home because I don't want to have to check it while stored but it seems to work very well.

5 years on the II's with two units and never had a water issue coming in. Always open stored or not unless AC is on. Yes the vent lid hits the cover, but they are so flimsy that both flex enough to get it 95% open. The flow seems fine to me with the power fans both in the LR and Bathroom.
