My old dog had an accident.

My 17 y/o girl had a small accident, I think she got scared from the big dogs two sites down barking and growling. Well she wet under the dinette. What is an easy way to clean that carpet. I blotted as much up as I could. Our carpet shampooer doesn't have an upolustherry tool.So any advice gladly accepted.

I find that the best result is when using an extraction type of carpet cleaner, one that sucks up the water and urine. My Lab liked a certain spot on the basement carpet. If you use vinegar it leaves an odour of urine and vinegar and the dog might use that spot again. I would use carpet cleaner and when it is dry apply baking soda to absorb any left over odour for a day and then vacuum it up. If you are using the trailer then cover the area with a towel until you vacuum the baking soda up.
The same dog likes to eat sticks and then barf it up on a small area carpet and I cleaned it over and over. I soaked it with vinegar and used carpet cleaner but it still wreaked. I re cleaned it without vinegar and applied baking soda and left it for 3 days and could not believe how it took the odour away.

We haven't had that problem in the traile, but when it happens at home add some Nature's Miracle (get it at a pet supply store) to the area then use a spray on carpet cleaner and scrub it good with a brush. Then vacuum when dry. Works well for us.

Our small dog had an accident near the door when we first got her. We used a foam spray and blotted several times. No smell, no stain, and no further accidents. We now know when she is telling us something. She was a good teacher.

x2 on the Natures Miracle. It'll remove the smell and your buddy won't be enticed to go there and try again.

I have found "Spot Shot" to be really effective for taking out stains and odors. It's available at Home Depot and most major grocery stores. Comes in a blue spray can with an orange cap. After you've blotted up what you can, spray the spot with Spot Shot, let it set for about 15 seconds, scrub with a stiff brush and the stain just disappears. Then blot with a couple of paper towels to absorb the liquid. Works really great when my boy gets sick. Isn't it amazing how they always seem to find the carpet . . . not the vinyl flooring?

There was three pups from this litter 17 years or so ago, they were all that survived a dirty vets table, assuming parvo. We lost one of the girls last Aug, the two that are still with us are showing thier age. Rotten has bad hips good days and bad, I help her when needed, she loves to go and just sit out in a chair with me, Punches has catracts, and arturthis[ cant take meds as it tears her stomach up] we are always rubbing her back down. She likes little slow walks around the camping area. I think the world of these two dogs and try to give them the best. They gave me and still are giving me thier best.

X2 for Natures Miracle. Our Border Collie/Aussie pup has gone several times in the trailer but we've cleaned it up without a trace. There's a couple types, but we use the "destroyer" type.

When one of our dogs has an "accident" on the carpet when not yet housebroken, nothing beats plain old cold water for cleanup. Simply blot the spot as dry as possible, then pour cold water ion the wet spot, starting around the edge working towards the center. Blot up again with an old towel and repeat the procedure. Two times should be enough. When dry, no stain, no odor. Amazing.
