First outing last May and pop up storm came. We pulled our awning in. Father-in-law didn't. Well, his awning is large and the amount of water broke the rear arm and all the water came down on me and slammed me in the side of the trailer. No one was hurt, but the awning was ruined. My grandfather told him the large awnings need a middle arm. They used to be standard but companies stopped adding them. You now have to request it. Check the size of your awning. The middle support made all of the difference in my FIL's new awning. It is much stronger now. However, my house still stands by "pull it in if you leave and when you go to bed" motto. Good luck!
