Plan to pull the trigger on this on Monday. Will be picking it up late this spring.

This evening I found myself thinking about things. Like...

Jayco does not supply a battery, but I don't see in the specs what Jayco provides for a battery tray... does it hold just one group 27 battery or two?

In the owner's manual online, it said there was an inverter to supply 12volts and to charge the trailer battery when plugged into 120volts AC. Is the inverter adequate for lighting at night and charging the battery or should I plan on using flashlights and upgrading the inverter?

We plan on making a long trip when we pickup the trailer and do not plan to return to our 'stick' house for months. I'd like to be prepared, or at least forewarned, if there are things that others discovered when picking up and using a new trailer.

We are not strangers to camping; we've had van conversions etc. and just sold our class B motorhome. We have the gear we need, just don't wish to be surprised by oh, say the lack of a battery or an inverter that won't keep a battery charged. Or other things that I haven't worried about yet, but should be.

Jayco's come with a battery...my trailer kept my battery charged great when plug into shore power...

I guess this is a good opportunity to ask a question I've been thinking about..
I just bought a new G27 deep cycle battery at Walmart. I found they had the best price ($89) and best warranty (2 years). FYI from my research.
Anyway, on my battery tender, it charges a bulk charge up to 14+V, and when it is charged, it keeps it at 13.1V.
When my trailer is plugged into my 120 at my house, my volt meter shows it at 13.5V.
1) Is this too much for a steady charge? My battery tender only keeps it at 13.1V..
2) When I unplug from my 120V, the battery goes to 12.7V. What do ya'lls batteries show when fully charged and hooked up to TT with extreme minimal draw?

Oops! I re-read material the salesman sent me... a battery and battery box ARE INCLUDED with the trailer purchase. The Jayco owner's manual said the battery was 'owner supplied' or words to that effect.

The battery is installed by the dealer, not by Jayco.

The converter will run the lights and keep the battery charged when plugged into shore power (120 volts)

Thanks for the info. I guess my questions were mostly 'pre-purchase' jitters, but thankfully those are over... WE ORDERED OUR JAY FLIGHT 27RLS TODAY!

We also changed our plans: We will pick it up in the spring when it is available, and the weather allows, and drag it from Indiana to Arizona. That way we can get things set up the way we want and make a few shakedown trips.

We have bought new vehicles, but this is our first new RV. I am SO looking forward to getting my hands on that trailer... like a little kid waiting for Christmas!
